Yeah this is a lower performing device compared to what the Pocket 4 will be. The Pocket 4 will likely be around twice the price if not higher.

The Cinebench test is to push the CPU to the maximum to get a rough indication of the battery life under full load, which is around 2 hours 30 minutes.. For general usage you get around 5 hours, it depends on many factors; screen brightness, using wifi and/or bluetooth and what you are doing, it could be word processing, watching a video, web browsing. So on average it lasts for around 5 hours.

We have used Cyberpunk in the past for many benchmarks but we decided on a change.

There are many games that are graphically demanding. We like to change between games to keep things fresh. While we would like to do more benchmarks, we have to test at 4K, 1080P and 720P across 5 different TDP for handhelds for every game, and that does not include eGPU benchmarks if the device supports it. That's several runs of benchmarks for each game which can be time consuming. Cyberpunk may return to the benchmarks in the future, or failing that we may occasionally include it on our gameplay part of the reviews to show the best graphics settings.

If streaming video drops frames you can get them back if it causes stuttering you can’t fix that but there isn’t enough reviews of the tech so I don’t know. On an Aya Neo with a 5600 series mobile chip you can run Returnal & Horizon Forbidden West w/ Lossless Scaling so w/ Lossless you will push damn near every game to 100 frames on this. You won’t play a single game that can’t hit 60 fps. Throw those damn “benchmarks” away. We are in a new world of gaming where they are now obsolete. 😂

Yeah the Pocket 3 series is still very popular for non-gaming. This model is great for price vs performance.

It has a switch to change the power from the original 100W down to 60W. The HDMI has also been updated to support 4K 120Hz (before 4K 60Hz). In terms of performance, they are exactly the same as each other.

Yes there is OTA updating. You will receive a prompt when there is an OS update or you can check in the settings. You also have Google Play Store so any installed apps from there are automatically updated.

Not really… the difference in performance is negligible.

We have not tried it with this model and unfortunately we no longer sell it as its 2 years old. In theory it should work as you are essentially streaming a video, it plays UA-cam videos just fine. Make sure your internet is good enough though, check the requirements on their homepage.

You can use the included USB-C to A adaptors. But we recommend a hub for the best connectivity as it provides more USB ports as well as other features such as output to a larger external display etc. Our DroiX NH8 hub at droix.net/product/droix-nh8-nvme-usb-hub/ is perfect for this.

It is just as bad on my desktop PC, I get occasional crashes on that, it's the game more than anything else. But check Windows is up to date and you are using the latest AMD graphics drivers. The current drivers in particular seem to be more stable and have overall higher performance..

On the left side of the handheld is a switch to change between mouse and gamepad mode. push the switch to the downwards position to enable the gamepad.

I don’t know much about Customer firmware. I’m guessing that they would be done via a computer which I don’t own. The only thing I have is my iPhone 11 so I’m guessing that you can’t do customer firmware using one of those. If I owned a computer then I would definitely give it a go.

Amstrad CPC 464 is also my favourite computer. I replied on another comment about learning about emulators and throwing out my CPC and hundreds of games because I could play them on PC instead. It's not quite the same though!

​@@Heidiroberts06 I don't think I have ever seen one that has any computer such as CPC, C64 or Speccy etc on it. If you get an Android handheld then you could get RetroArch and install the CPC core (Caprice I think) from that. There might be a dedicated emulator from the Play Store. But one of the issues with computer emulators is keyboard support, many games require some keyboard input on title screens for starting games etc. Handhelds are not great for it and would have to use on screen keyboard etc.

I just noticed that the Miyoo A30 with SpruceOS custom firmware has CPC emulator on it (probably via RetroArch). You would need to add your own games for the CPC though.

That's exactly how I got my imported games, from a game market stall! Mine was Hackney Wick car boot sale next to the dog racing track. The guy run a shop during the week and done the market on a Sunday. I can remember getting Star Fox and Street Fighter 2 on SNES import in particular.

@@DroiX_Store How funny! I may well have been there too! I remember this being very soon after the release of the game. Another strong memory a bit later on was going to CeX back then I believe they only had one or two stores in London, I think the one I went to was Rathbone St, I would take the tube to go see their wares, I remember getting Heberekes Popoitto on the PS1 from there! At the time there were very few places like that although a bit later.

Rathbone St was the one that originally the downstairs was all retro hardware and games?

@@COXSPARRA Yeah they had a flood in the basement and ruined a lot of the items. I think afterwards it was something totally different, and not much retro, haven't been there in 15+ years.
